Vishal Prasad Awarded 2024 Global Citizen Prize

Vishal Prasad, Campaign Director of the Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change, has been awarded the prestigious Global Citizen Prize: Climate for his outstanding contributions to the campaign for an Advisory Opinion on climate change and human rights from the International Court of Justice.

The Global Citizen Prize celebrates young changemakers taking extraordinary actions to foster social change in their communities and achieve equality and justice for all. The Prize was launched in 2018, to emphasize the remarkable efforts of inspiring individuals from across the globe.

With a background in international politics and law from the University of the South Pacific, Vishal has been part of the ICJ advisory opinion movement since 2019. He is dedicated to the fight to secure the Pacific youth's demands to protect the rights of people at the frontlines, of present and future generations, from the adverse effects of climate change. Vishal also focused on the position of youth globally, since he is one of the five co-founders of our organization. As part of World’s Youth for Climate Justice, he strengthens collective efforts against the climate crisis as part of the global ICJ advisory opinion campaign.

World’s Youth for Climate Justice extends their biggest congratulations to Vishal, whose outstanding dedication to driving the fight for climate justice is of immense importance to the ICJ AO campaign and the future of young people worldwide.
