WYCJ is awarded the Youth Carnegie Peace Prize

On 7th December 2023, World’s Youth for Climate Justice was awarded the Youth Carnegie Peace Prize by the Carnegie Foundation. Taking place in the Grand Hall of Justice, the courtroom of the ICJ, WYCJ was awarded the prize for its dedicated efforts in fighting climate change by means of international law and for advocating climate justice.

The ceremony brought together over 120 attendees including young people, diplomats and representatives of international institutions. Piet Hein Donner, president of the Carnegie Foundation, Zaire Krieger, spoken word artist, and Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague, delivered speeches during the award ceremony.
