YUMI – The whole World Documentary

In a brave fight for survival, students from the South Pacific are inspiring a global movement to demand legal accountability for climate change at the world’s highest court, pushing for historic action.

YUMI shares the inspiring story of law students Solomon, Vishal, and Romabeth, who proudly graduate from the University of the South Pacific, embarking on a mission to bring climate change issues before the International Court of Justice through the United Nations. Their goal is to protect their homeland islands from disappearing.

Starting out in a small university room, they grow into confident advocates, engaging with ministers, ambassadors, and commissioners from around the world. Along the way, they face the challenges of diplomacy and work tirelessly toward their dream: to achieve a historic UN resolution that obliges countries to take action on climate change.

Will their passion and persistence be enough to convince 97 UN member states to raise their case to the highest court in the world?

YUMI [‘jumi”] is a very strong Bislama word of saying ‘we’. There is no ‘I’, there is only ‘we’.
