June Climate Meetings (SB64)

The sixty-fourth sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SB64) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

8–18 June, 2026

From 8 to 18 June, 2026, the annual UN June Climate Meetings take place in Bonn, Germany! These meetings, which are formally known as the sixty-fourth sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SB64) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), bring together government delegations, UN bodies, scientific organisations and non-governmental organisations together in one place to discuss tackling the climate crisis. This year, the official topics on the agenda are: climate adaptation, just transition away from fossil fuels; operationalising loss and damage finance; agriculture and food security; technology transfer, and the follow-up to the first global stocktake.

World’s Youth for Climate Justice is on the ground, with our Europe Front Lead Henrieke Bünger, Asia Front Lead Prajwol Bickram Rana and our Executive Director Jule Schnakenberg all attending and speaking in these two weeks. Of course, we are going to focus on the legal obligations of States that were affirmed by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) its climate change advisory opinion, as well as the recently released United Nations General Assembly resolution that welcomes and operationalises this advisory opinion. Our message will be clear: the ICJ’s climate ruling must leading any conversation in Bonn, and the implementation of the advisory opinion must start now.
